Top Million Seller!

3/15/2013

The headline sounds impressive. At first glance, it suggests the book has sold a million copies, or made a million dollars. All it really means is, someone has pre-ordered a single copy of What We Found in the Sofa and How It Saved the World from Amazon.com and moved the book very briefly from where it was yesterday – at position 3,751,233, right between Fletch Your Own Arrows and How To Make Hats Out of Pork – to a position within Amazon’s list of top million sellers.

I know from experience that over the next few days, the book’s position will slowly creep back to 3,751,233.

And then I’ll have to order another copy.

My Aunt Belle and Uncle Gaston. When he married her, he promised her a library with a million books in it, but all he did was paint a bookcase on the wall.

You were probably doing a search for gutta percha knitty-noddies. My site always comes up first.

Oh, I figured it out...it's the TIME TRAVEL thing comes up when Goggle search myself... You can always delete it than you will never have to hear from me again. Believe it or not I had a good laugh seeing you reminded that it was your sense of humor that got me through 20 years... and your friendship made it worthwhile. I really will buy your book and put it on my coffee table so I can say " I knew Henry when...on a fall afternoon in broad daylight we really did witness a humongous UFO " If you recall, so did 50,000 other people that called 911! Now that would make a great children's book. Congratulations ! Gail

Hi Gail!
I have fond memories of those days, UFOs and all, and spend a lot of time reminiscing. If you occasionally Google "Time Traveler Antiques" - a fine store in the heart of historic Pennsylvania - more and more it will bring up my site: my next book, due out in 2015, actually has the words "time travel" in the title, and I'll be talking more and more about that book in the coming year. It's a small world. Or maybe just a small Internet.

Pictured here on the day he sold What We Found in the Sofa. His mood is cautiously optimistic.

You should see him when he's happy.
